Advising

The UHP Advising Mission is to assist UHP students in discovering the depth and breadth of the intellectual life of the University. An important part of UHP advising is to help students take advantage of the many opportunities for enrichment to be found at the University.  As our students progress in their academic fields, they will also discover the connectedness of knowledge across disciplines. UHP students will explore with the fellow students and advisors this interconnectivity within and beyond the classroom environment.

The UHP advising model carries a University-wide perspective. A strong system of referral is a critical hallmark of UHP advising practice. In their academic liaison work, UHP advisors partner with colleges and departments to learn their college-specific advising practices, research opportunities, and curricular requirements. UHP advisors will help students maximize their opportunities and the U of M. UHP advisors will assist students in their pursuit for graduation with Honors and life beyond college as they journey towards graduate and professional school and careers.
