First-Year Admission

Admission to the University Honors Program is highly competitive. Each application is carefully reviewed and UHP admission is offered to the overall most competitive applicants from each freshman-admitting college. Academic preparedness for Honors is determined by factors such as the rigor of the applicant's high school curriculum, grade point average, high school rank, and ACT or SAT test scores.

December 17, 2007, is the priority deadline for fall 2008 admission applications. Students whose applications become complete after December 17 will be considered for admission to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and the University Honors Program on a space-available basis.

Students admitted to the University Honors Program will be notified by the end of March of their senior year.

If you are in your first year at the University and are interested in transferring to Honors, please see the "sophomore" year admission link.
