Admission for Future Freshmen

Each freshman applicant to the University of Minnesota is carefully reviewed for admission to the University Honors Program.  There is no separate honors application for prospective freshmen.  An invitation to join UHP is offered to the most competitive applicants from each freshman-admitting college. Competitiveness for honors admission is determined by a holistic review, taking all elements of an applicant’s application into consideration, with emphasis given to rigor of the applicant's high school curriculum, grade point average, high school rank, and ACT or SAT test scores.

December 15, 2009 is the priority deadline for fall 2010 U of M admission applications. Students who complete their applications after December 15 will be considered for admission to the University of Minnesota and the University Honors Program on a space-available basis.

All students admitted to UHP will be notified by the end of March of their senior year of high school.

For information on applying to the University of Minnesota visit the U of M Office of Admissions Web site.
