Campuses:
The University Honors Program curriculum is the core of an honors education. It is designed to meet the needs of all our students, regardless of their major. Honors courses feature:
Honors seminars (HSEM) are unique, discussion-based courses proposed by faculty on subjects within an area of their academic interest and expertise. Global Challenge Courses (HCOL) take an interdisciplinary problem-solving approach to challenges that extend beyond borders. Each HCOL course counts as two honors experiences.
Departmental honors courses are offered by departments and colleges from across campus and take many forms.
At the recommendation of an honors advisor, a student may fulfill an Honors Experience course requirement through an honors course contract. Course contracts outline additional work for a student to complete in a non-honors course—work that is qualitatively different from the regularly-required course assignments. Students may complete one honors course contract per academic year.
Tutoring is available in the areas of chemistry, math, and physics. Honors students in both honors and non-honors versions of these courses are encouraged to make use of this service.
